About Us

San Rafael Hearing has years of experience identifying and solving hearing problems.  Our training, background, and ongoing education, give us the tools necessary to provide you with the best service possible.  We provide many services.

• Evaluate hearing ability in patients of all ages and backgrounds
• Advise patients in a caring, supportive environment
• Encourage hearing conservation
• Fit the most appropriate hearing devices for each patient
• Provide maintenance and service for most hearing aids manufactures
• Provide electronystagmography (ENG) testing

Our goal is simple.  Help you hear better.  While hearing aids may be a significant part of your rehabilitation plan, our efforts continue after you are fit with a hearing device. We are here to help you learn to adjust to the new sounds you are hearing, make any necessary adjustments to the hearing aids, and follow-up with you on a regular basis.

Riley Barney, who received his bachelor’s degree in communication disorders in 1979 from Utah State University and his master’s degree in 1983 in Audiology, has functioned in hospital, educational, industrial and clinical environments over the last twenty years.

David Weaver received his bachelor’s degree from Brigham Young University in Audiology.  Since David has joined the practice in 1997, he has specialized in balance and vertigo testing and evaluation, as well as the full range of clinical audiological procedures.

Tanis Barney is our office manager; she handles the front desk, appointments and files all our medical billings.

San Rafael Hearing Center is a contracted provider for most major insurance groups including: United Health Care, HealthNet, Blue Cross Blue Shield,  Aetna, Medicare, Secure Horizons, Cigna, RAN+AMN/AZ benefits, Schaller Anderson, Coventry and Pacificare.
